| About Living Water | What We Believe | ||
We BelievePEOPLE:We believe God created humans in His image and without sin. Adam and Eve rebelled against Him and their natures became corrupt. Now every human being is born with a self-centered nature and a tendency toward rebelion that violates God's will and desire. People need forgiveness and a new life. God provides it through His grace. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus."+Romans 3:23) CHRIST:We believe that God loved the world so much that He sent His one and only Son into the world to bear our sin and be our Savior. Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for our sin and rose from the dead as the firstfruits of all who will rise to eternal life through faith in Him. "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."+John 3:16 GRACE:We believe that God desires a relationship with all people. He wants us to spend eternity with him. Grace is his undeserved love toward us that he expressed through Jesus dying for us on the Cross for us. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.+John 15:13 FAITH:We believe that people cannot earn forgiveness or a place in heaven. It is a gift that we receive through faith in Christ. Faith itself is a gift God works in our hearts by the Holy Spirit through the Word of God. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast."+Ephesians 2:8-9 GOD:We believe that God is Triune. He has come to us as three persons in one God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that God created the universe and sustains it with His almighty power. He came to earth in the person of Jesus Christ to be our Savior. And He give us faith and life in the person of the Holy Spirit. "He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together."+Colossians 1:17 THE BIBLE:We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is true and without error. It is our source to know God and live according to his will and purpose for us. "Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit."+2 Peter 1:20-21
